Latest design idea

This is my latest inspiration for a Ranger Militia logo. Vanessa found it on our phones.

I want to replace the blades with wrenches, replace the twisted metal design behind it with spiderweb, add a blue oval shaped tongue coming out of the mouth and hanging over the wrenches in a 'Gene Simmons' fashion. and change the red splats to blue. The back part that looks blue is actually gray.

Here's what it represents:

The Skull - We are Ford Ranger enthusiasts all the way down to the bone. It's not just an outward appearance.

The Wrenches - Because we like to wrench on and modify our trucks to represent us and our unique style.

The Spiderweb - Because we are a network connected by the world wide web.

The Blue Tongue and Blue Splats - Because we eat, drink, breathe and bleed Ford Blue.

I definitely dig it. I think maybe some writing needs to be incorporated withing the symbol though.

Thanks Tom.

I want the tongue to hang out and resemble the shape of an oval, but I don't want it to look like the Ford oval (no chrome line or Ford script). I was carefull to refer to the blue parts of the design without mentioning anything like 'Blue Oval Tongue' to keep Ford off our backs.

I would rather have the Ranger Militia written separate from the logo.

Ok - Based on the image above - here is what I came up with. I think it needs something else or maybe it just has too much Blue in it - suggestions? I am home all weekend and should be able to make modifications between working on the Ranger and making my new console. Let me know something . . .

One has the tongue over the wrenches the other has it under.

In my mind, I was visualizing the wrenches behind the skull extending a little farther out so they're above the eye sockets, and spider webs attaching between the wrenches and the skull, not just one big web behind it. Can you make the tongue straight down instead of off to the side and more oval shaped?

How is this - I also lightened the background a bit - tones down all of the blue.

If you keep the skull and wrenches realistic looking (even like the photo) and give the spider webs a 'razor wire' look (for lack of a better word) Cause a regular spiderweb I think will make it look old and dusty, I'm thinking if you don't use it for T-shirts, it may be my next tat.

The whole concept has got my vote. But I'm not feeling the tongue hanging straight down in that last rendering, maybe if you put a couple of ovals embosed into the wrench handles (no color or script) but definetly keep the blue blood splater idea.
