modified exploder 8.8 axle, the 4.10 factory posi with a couple of extra clutch discs works really well, no friction modifier just synthetic, and the disc brakes with performance pads really help slow down the 35" 12.50 15" BFG's

my truck is slowly being modified and does pretty good off road, not really 4x4 but desert running or sand it's a ways off for how i want it my wife says its a forever project.... and my"dyno sources" chip works really well $360 but it woke it up good i have a 4.0 and it's a 2000
I run 87 octane with my superchip just fine, but as far as performance off road goes you're better off with the cold air and exhaust. 4.10 gears and a locking diff will make a world of difference though. The performance tuner's real power is in changing shift points and pressures, I don't know about you but I don't shift much when off-roading... except for 1st and 2nd gears. The cold air will give you better throttle response which'll help out when you need to power through some mud. Just my 2 cents ;P

I'd say that would work, But with the tuner chip, you have to run a higher octane fuel. I'd say start with an exhaust, and then go to an intake, and save tuner chips as a last resort..........unless it's OBD II!!!!!!
Do you think that adding a 8.8 axle with 4.10 gears, a locker, a 2" body lift, 31" tires and a chip tuner would improve my truck's off road capabilities?
because thats the plans i have for it for next year.
the chip tuner obviously to try to get more power, cuz the 2.5 does ok, but ok is not enough lol
