I have a 87 2.3 fuel injected 5 spd ranger thet hasn't been running so well. We took it to my high school and the shop teacher worked on it. The following has been done in the past year: New computer, tps sensor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump in tank, fuel pump on rail, fixed a few vacum leaks, new fuel relay, and eec relay. My ford ranger has a 2.8 hesitation when i step own the gas or when were cruising down the highway. i have replaced the whole muffler system and catylitic converter, o2 sensor, rebuilt the carburetur and tuned it, replace the transmision, Coil, spark plugs, cap and rotor, battery, replaced the axle fluid, check the timing and i still got the hesitation to it. Wonder if any one ever had this problem or how to solve this problem?

well its been a good truck. im glad i have been able to see this truck go through hell and back and still be the most reliable truck in my entire family. i just hope it will keep chuggin for another 200,000 miles. i know this truck has been almost twenty or thirty years in the making, but for some reason i think we havnt seen the last of the ranger.

Thought i would join to be a part of something and possibly represent the group here in Drumright. This town is small and people drive beaters with systems costing more than the whole vehicle. My truck is getting modded slowly but is a work in progress but turns heads because it is clean.I would love to get some militia members together to start meets or possibly recruit new members for the group. Thanks,Rick

Who here uses Marvel Mystery Oil on a religious basis? I always add it to the fuel, and occasionally put a smidge in the engine oil. I have always found that it keeps the fuel system nice and lubricated.
What other things do you guys use it for?
I have also heard of adding it to automatic transmission fluid just before a filter change to dislodge some junk.

truck ran like shit today. everything worked great on the camping trip to NM this weekend. then in town it started giving me crap. replaced the fuel filter and it was really bad. only had prob 2k miles on it. then pulled the pump out of the tank and the little 2in of fuel line was like bubble gum. then had to finally replace the pump itself. and it fired right up.
sad thing is that i replaced the pump less than a year ago

i used a tractor and measured front and rear flex.
got 19in of clearance out of the back left tire. then i disconnected the front shocks because i know they are limiting me, and i then got 21in!
got 23in of clearance under the front left tire with the shock disconnected still.
next is shocks that fit for my height, and either rancho 6423's, or EB coils. need more flex!
